Sadly like so many other lately, I got covid at the end of May. I’m doing all right, but I’m still indoors and away from my studio, so there’s not a lot of interesting art news from me right now. I hope to start working again soon, to finish up some projects and start work for some shows in August and September. More details soon!
Join me this weekend for Spring Open Studios!
Spring Open Studios is here
Visit me and more than a hundred other artists at The Shipyard
Dear friends,
This weekend I'm participating in Spring Open Studios at the Shipyard for the first time ever, exhibiting some of the latest paintings I've made in my new space at Arc. I'm thrilled to be hanging these pieces where you can see them in person! I'd love to meet you there.
Shipyard Open Studios
Hunters Point Shipyard: 451 Galvez Ave, San Francisco
Saturday & Sunday, April 30-May 1, 11am-6pm
You can find me in Building 101 in #2509, the second-floor gallery space as a guest artist along with Victoria Veedell.
Over 100 artists open their studios at the Shipyard this weekend, so there's a lot of amazing art to see. It's free and open to the public, with ample parking, food vendors and musical entertainment. Reserve your ticket here.
If you can't make it, no sweat - you can still see my newest paintings online. I look forward to seeing you soon!
Warmly
Heather
Two weekends, two events
Visit me at Arc for Spring Cleaning Sale,
and at the Shipyard for Spring Open Studios
Dear friends,
Once again it's a busy month, with almost too much going on to tell you about in one post. But I'll give it my best shot.
First of all: Online bidding is open at ArtSpan's Benefit Auction! Over 130 great pieces are available. I've donated my painting "Carefree", which you can bid on directly here. If you'd like to see all the pieces in person, you can reserve a viewing time this week. Bidding closes April 28.
Coming up this Sunday is the Spring Cleaning Sale at Arc. Over a dozen artists are offering discontinued works, art supplies, and other odds & ends. There will be a lot of interesting (and maybe weird) stuff available!
Spring Cleaning Sale
Sunday, April 24, 1-5pm
Arc Studios - 1246 Folsom St, San Francisco
I'll have some discounted paintings and some supplies and equipment that I'd be happy to pass on. Plus you can see my new studio and get a peek at the work I'm preparing for the end of the month.
What am I making new work for, you ask? I'm participating in Spring Open Studios at the Shipyard for the first time ever this year.

Hope to see you this weekend or next!

I'm featured on Artglish's site
Jessica Gardner of Artglish recently featured my website in an article and video about artist statements. Take a look:
If you’re an artist who’s struggling to write their statement (I’ve definitely been there, and I’m sure I’ll be there again), check out her advice. She’s got a lot of useful tips, and also offers her services as a language coach for artists.
Gallery-hop with me to Luna Rienne and Arc this Saturday
I'm now thoroughly settled into my new studio and busy producing work, including a couple of big paintings I'm especially excited about. This Saturday evening, I'll be attending the openings of two new shows, and I hope to see you at one or both of them.
Visual Indulgence
Opening Reception: Saturday, April 9, 5-9pm
Luna Rienne - 3318 22nd St, San Francisco
Exhibition: April 9 - May 1
I'm thrilled to be showing my "Pattern Seeking" paintings in this exhibit at Luna Rienne Gallery with one of my favorite artists. Find me there from 5 to around 7pm.
Visual Indulgence is a foray into color and process with paintings by Ingrid V. Wells and Heather Robinson that are simultaneously playful and serious; simple and complex. Vibrant patterns are immediately inviting yet crafted through a deliberate and extensive process that involves modeling, masking, layering and more.
Opening Reception: Saturday, April 9, 7-9pm
Arc - 1246 Folsom St, San Francisco
Exhibition: April 9 - May 7
A group exhibit featuring work by the sixteen artists who have their studios at Arc. I'm proud to call Arc my new art home, and this will undoubtedly be a lively and eclectic show. I can't wait to see it. Find me in the gallery sometime after 7pm.
So many shows coming up!
April is shaping up to be a busy month for me! I hope you’ll see my work in one or more of these exhibits:

Visit me at Superfine March 3-6
While I've been moving into my studio at Arc, I've also been spending lots of time painting. This weekend, many of these new pieces will be showing at Superfine Art Fair, and I hope you'll come see them (and me)!

Or visit me March 3-6 at Superfine!
You might remember that Secession is closing their San Francisco location on March 13, and I've been gradually moving to a space at Arc on Folsom St. I'm not totally set up for painting in the new studio yet, but I'm getting there. This weekend I'll be opening up to visitors!
I'd love you to visit on Saturday, Feb 26, 7-9pm. Arc is at 1246 Folsom St in San Francisco, and you can find me upstairs in #202. That night is the opening reception for the 48 Pillars show in the gallery space, and the other artists will be opening their studios, so there will be lots of great art to see.
Aside from moving, I've been spending as much time as I can creating new work for Superfine Art Fair, March 3-6. I'll be debuting more than a dozen new paintings there. I hope you'll come see me and the 60-plus other artists showing that weekend at Fort Mason.
Auction for San Francisco-Marin Food Bank
I’m proud to say I’m participating in Studio Gallery’s benefit auction for the San Francisco Marin Food Bank. I’m offering “Modulate”, this 12x16” acrylic and fabric painting. Pieces for the auction will be available for viewing in the gallery, but all bidding will take place online. Bidding will begin the afternoon of Thursday, February 24th and close at 6 pm (PST) on Sunday, February 27th. Keep an eye out on Studio gallery’s site for more info!
It's almost moving time
Looking forward to showing you my new space
The first quarter of 2022 is a busy and exciting one for me. As you might know, I'm moving studios from Secession Art & Design to Arc starting next month. Secession is closing their San Francisco location on March 13.
You'll still find me at Secession for some of February - I plan to move somewhat gradually, as I've got a lot of painting to do! Superfine SF is happening in early March and I'm working on several new pieces for it. But I'm also really looking forward to setting up my new studio - going forward, I'll be able to work bigger. I can't wait to see where that leads me.
My studio moving sale is still on - I've added many of these half-off pieces to my website so you can collect them directly, but you can see the whole collection here.
I hope to be able to show you pictures of my new setup soon! Thanks so much for your support.
Big changes ahead in 2022! But for now, help me celebrate my birthday

If you've been on my list for awhile (thank you!) you know that I often do a flash sale around my birthday. Well, this year is a little different.

Thinking about artful holiday gifts? It's not too early
Artful gifts available now
It feels like the holiday season is beginning earlier this year. Whether it's all the warnings about the supply chain disruptions, or just that we want to have something to look forward to, I think a lot of us have started our shopping already. With that in mind, here are some things I think you'll like!
Apart from my larger original art, I'm introducing a series of Sutro tower paintings. These affordable little one-of-a-kind pieces have been hugely popular -the first two released sets sold out before I could even get them on my website. I've just finished a few more, so I wanted to make sure you have a chance to own one. I hope to complete several more of the square ones before December - when I do, I'll let you know.
This year, I'm also offering a special collection of printed gifts like pillows and customizable items that ship directly to you. I've chosen quality products, often using natural materials (the 100% silk scarves, for instance - I love how they've turned out!)
You'll see me at a few in-person art events in San Francisco in December (details to come), where you'll be able to buy some items directly from me, but I wanted to give you an early heads-up so you have time to order printed gifts for the holidays from my website. Let me know if you have any questions, or if there's a design you'd like to see!
Warmly,
Heather
Tiny is happening soon
I’m very pleased to be showing several of my new Sutro in Fog paintings at Studio Gallery for their annual tiny show, one of my favorites! Tiny is in its 17th year, and features art under 7x7x7” and less than $500 - there are tons of treasures to discover.

Open Studios September 25-26
August has just zoomed by and it’s almost Open Studios season here in San Francisco. I’ve been in the studio as much as possible, creating new work for the events I’m participating in. I’m most excited to be showing at The General’s Residence in Fort Mason for the first time, with over 25 other artists. I’ll be in the Funston Room. There will be great art, beautiful views and free parking - hope to see you there!

Come out to ArtScape!
This weekend I'm bringing small artwork, pillows, note cards and some surprises to ArtScape, an outdoor art show in the Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco.
Visit me Saturday, August 21, 11am-5pm in the Sunset Mercantile space, near 37th Ave and Ortega. There'll be art vendors, music, food trucks, and a kid's area - it should be a fun way to spend some time and support your local artists. Booths are all distanced and everyone will be masked up. I'm looking forward to seeing you!
14th Anniversary Show at Secession
Secession Art & Design is celebrating its fourteenth anniversary! I've had my studio within Secession since Eden started it back in 2007, and I'm delighted to still be painting there. To mark the occasion, there's a new exhibition, featuring vibrant abstract paintings by me and Makiko Harris.
Join us for an in-person party and art opening this Friday, August 6, 6-8pm. We ask that everyone wear a mask. If you're not able to make it, the art is all available online at https://www.secessionsf.com/art?category=%23longevity, and the show will be up through September. Hope I'll see you!
Kemsley Galleries
I’m happy to say that I’m now represented by Kemsley Galleries, who are featuring a selection of my geometric paintings. I met Victoria Kemsley at The Other Art Fair LA last month and was very impressed by her energy and her attitude. I look forward to working with them!
June 24-27 The Other Art Fair LA
I’m immensely excited to be participating in this year’s The Other Art Fair LA, in person at ROW DTLA June 24-27. I’ve created fifteen new works just for this fair. You can buy timed-entry tickets online or at the door. Use ROBINSON25 at checkout for a discount on your ticket.
I’ll be in the Yellow District, Booth 18 - find me there!
