I'm now partnering with Art Money

I’m happy to say that you can now buy my works over $1000 using Art Money. It’s a really easy, no-interest way to buy artwork by splitting the balance into 10 payments. Although I offer personal payment plans, I can’t deliver the art until you’ve finished paying the entire amount. With Art Money, you pay a deposit and then I can deliver the art to you right away. Everyone wins!

It’s a fairly painless online process once you’ve chosen a painting. If you’re interested in this option, contact me and we’ll make it happen.

Wrap up 2020 with affordable, artful gifts this holiday

Dear Friends,

This Saturday, I'm showing my small art and gifts at Artwrap, an online art market presented by ArtSpan. ArtWrap spotlights giftable and shippable artistic pieces priced between $1 to $200 created by local Bay Area artists. Purchase work from artists knowing you’re investing in their livelihood while bringing cheer to everyone on your 2020 holiday gift list.

I'll have my new small originals, prints, pillows and note cards all in one place. You can join me in my virtual booth on Saturday December 5, 11am-3pm PST to chat and see the art on video, or just shop my website directly any time. There will be lots of Bay Area artists offering lovely items, all under $200.

ArtWrap is a virtual art market hosted on the BoothCentral platform. To join the fun, go to https://my.boothcentral.com/v/events/artwrap-2020-by-artspan/live and enter your name and email. You can preview the offerings and do some early shopping, and you'll get a reminder once the fair starts.

See you Saturday!

Small Business Saturday? Artists Sunday? It's up to you.

With the gift of art, everyone wins

Dear Friends,

The weekend after Thanksgiving is Small Business Saturday and Artists Sunday. I know you've heard it before, but with this crazy year nearing its end, I want to encourage you to buy local and handmade this gifting season. Of course I'll be thrilled if you decide my art is perfect for you or a loved one, but really there's so much great art out there and so many worthy artists to buy from. If we can, let's put money in the pockets of small business.

On that note, I've created a new under-$200 shop on my site. There's a dozen brand-new small originals, including Aviary and Cage Birds and Little Flowers paintings featuring California wildflowers. I also have note cards, prints, and a selection of pillows - I hope you'll take a look.

Are you on the lookout for bigger artwork? I have larger pieces in my originals shop and paintings in shows all over the Bay Area. And Artful Galleries in Austin is having a sale from now until the end of the year - several of my paintings are available exclusively through them.

Prefer to wear your art? Le Galeriste in Montreal is having a 30% off sale through November 30 - you can get printed designer masks, clothing, housewares and even gift cards.

Thanks for buying from small businesses, and above all, thanks for your support and encouragement.

Warmly
Heather

Art everywhere, even if I'm not

It's been a whirlwind month in so many ways. The busy doesn't seem to be letting up, despite the fact that we're social distancing and not going anywhere to speak of. Though I'm spending all my time either at home or the studio, at least my art is getting out in the world.

I don't normally list this much in one go, but there's a lot happening in the next few weeks, so I hope you'll bear with me:

Small Works Exhibition

November 13, 6pm - is the Virtual Art Walk for the Small Works Exhibition at Art Works Downtown in San Rafael. I'll be giving an artist talk and I hope to see you on the call! My works Patiently and Confidently are in this show - you can view it online anytime, or in person 12-5pm on weekends through December 20.

tiny 2020

My Aviary & Cage Birds are available through the very popular tiny show at Studio Gallery, November 12-December 23. You can make an appointment to see the show in person, buy pieces online or contact the gallery directly if there's one you're interested in.

Salon des Refusés

Patience is showing in the Salon des Refusés at Live Worms Gallery November 20 - December 6.

The Affordable Art Show

Several of my recent Japanese Geometric pieces are now at The Affordable Art Show at JCO's Art Haus in Los Gatos. You can see them online or in person during open hours or by appointment.

Whew! Thanks as always for your support - if you'd like to know more about any of these pieces or shows, just ask.

Warmly
Heather

PS: With everything going on, I've extended free shipping in my online store through the end of the year, to make things easier for you. I'll be releasing some new small pieces perfect for gift-giving soon - I'll let you know when they're up.

Virtual Art Studio Tour with Artspan Artist Heather Robinson

ArtSpan is an amazing local organization that supports San Francisco artists. They started a series of virtual art studio tours (VASTs) this year, since it’s harder to have people visit our studios in person right now. Take a look at mine! I’ll show you the space I work in and some of my techniques.

New image and products at Le Galeriste

I have a new design up at Le Galeriste! The clothing, masks and home goods featuring my art have been popular, so they asked me for a new painting to work with. I chose “Fervently,” a soft yet bright piece with turquoises and oranges as well as gentle greens and golds. You can get this painting on nine new pieces including masks, scarves, pillows and dresses.

Ten new little paintings to brighten your space

Continuing to create

Dear Friends,

I hope you are holding up all right, and staying healthy and safe. Myself, I'm doing the best I can. It's been hard to talk about everything that's going on in the world - I've been spending a lot of time on social media, educating myself and trying to figure out what I can do to make things better.

Last month, I donated 100% of the proceeds of five Little Flower paintings to The Movement for Black Lives. I'm planning to donate a portion of all my sales to them from now on.

Making beautiful things is one of the ways I can contribute to the common good, and I'm grateful to have been able to get back into the studio part-time. I've completed a series of eight paintings I'm calling "The Cheerfuls" (and made a video to show you, since we can't meet in person yet). At the end of June, I delivered a skyline commission that I'm really proud of.

Secession's Anniversary show will be in August, and I'm starting new geometric paintings for that. In the meantime, I just added a series of ten small Aviary & Cage Bird paintings to my website. Each is 5x7", based on an antique trading card image of a bird, and $150. They can hang on a wall or sit on a shelf. Here are a few:

Thanks for your continued support; it means a great deal to me. Please stay safe and if you can, tell me something you're doing to keep yourself going in these weird times.

Warmly
Heather

Artful home goods from Le Galeriste are back!

The company that makes the great masks with my art on them, Le Galeriste, is back to their regular production schedule. They're still making the masks but have also resumed producing artful home goods and clothing. Take a look at my page to see what’s available . I have a few discount codes too - contact me if you'd like one!

Art in place

Dear Friends,

I hope you are all holding up all right, and staying healthy and safe. I'm doing the best I can, myself. Since I can't be at the studio, I've been creating at home, making mixed-media embroidered collages with the materials I have available. These pieces look starkly different from my recent paintings, but I find myself still exploring similar themes of domestic work and pattern-making, thinking about what feels like "home." I've put a few up in my online shop and will be producing more.

Even though I'm not in the studio, my art's still there. Eden has hung an exhibit at Secession Art & Design, featuring bright, colorful paintings by me and Nathalie Fabri. You can peek through the windows and see some of it, or watch this quick video, and you can also see all the works individually on Secession's website.

Best of all, join us this Friday April 24 at 6-7pm PDT for a virtual happy hour. Nathalie and I will be calling in from our homes to talk about the work, and Eden will be at the gallery showing it off. To join the happy hour, click https://zoom.us/j/95120713112 at the right time, and if it prompts you to enter a password, type "essential". I hope I'll see you then!

I'd love to hear from you - personal connection feels more and more important these days. Tell me about what's making you happy, or helping you hang in there. If you have any questions about my work, I'd be delighted to answer them.

Warmly
Heather

My Imagery wine is now available for purchase

The Imagery Winery 2017 Tusca Brava that I created the label art for is now available. I’m really proud I got to be a part of this project, and the wine is also delicious. From their description: “Our Super Tuscan style Sangiovese based blend introduces stunning fruit fragrances rising from the glass. Notes of black cherry, satsuma plum and baking spices display a layered complexity on the palate. Alluring acidity and subtle tannins reveal a divine mouthfeel and juicy finish.”

Art in an uncertain time

Dear Friends,

Well, a whole lot has changed since the last time I posted. A month ago, I was heading on a trip to Martinique (which I was very fortunate to get to take, and also to get home safely from). Now I'm sheltering in place, like most of you, and not going to the studio since it's across town and a non-essential trip. My planned shows for this time have all been canceled or postponed, and I'm feeling rather at loose ends.

I'm doing a lot of cooking, baking, crocheting and sketching, planning for when I can get to my studio again. I've also been trying to support as many local small businesses as I can, ordering things online and buying gift cards. Most of my time is going to Secession Art & Design, the gallery my studio is in, so they can stay in business until we're all allowed to go outside again.

I've also been trying to practice gratitude, and I'm taking time to appreciate you, all of you, who have supported me and my art. I know you might be weary of being asked how you're doing (how do you even answer that?), and it's a rough time for an awful lot of people, but I really would love to hear from you, if you're up for it.

Best
Heather

PS: I've updated the info for my former March exhibits below. I've added some new works to my website, and I've also created a printed goods shop with pillows, leggings and other cozy items, since we're all spending a lot of time at home.

Breezy was meant to be in the Artspan Art Auction in March. Now I'm donating the proceeds directly to support Artspan. Contact me if you're interested in acquiring this piece.

Find my art around town in March

Dear Friends,

This month my paintings are staying in town, while I'm taking a little adventure abroad.

My painting "Atmospheric" is featured in Women Rising at The Drawing Room Annex, 2675 Mission St. Over one hundred Bay Area women artists are showcased in this exhibition and I'm proud to be one of them. The opening reception is Saturday, March 7, 5-9pm, and there will be artists' talks all month long on Sundays.

I also have a painting in the Lyme Light Foundation's popular Dart for Art this year. At this benefit, guests dash from a starting line to claim an original piece of art. The event takes place Friday, March 20, 6:30pm at the San Mateo Event Center and promises to be a great time!

Last but definitely not least, "Breezy" will be featured in the ArtSpan Benefit Art Auction. Join us Saturday, March 21, 6:30-9:30pm at Somarts Center, 934 Brannan St to bid on over 100 pieces of art in all mediums. It's a festive, fast-paced evening that benefits one of my favorite organizations. I'll be volunteering at the check-in desk - say hello if you can!

Warmly,
Heather
